With that done, place a small plastic container on the inside. Fill it with a little bit of water. Then, add fresh flowers in colors that coordinate with the holiday. This makes a beautiful centerpiece for a dining room table.
Wheat Wall Hanging
Here’s another great DIY trick to make your home look cozy. You’ll need a round piece of wood that’s not more than one-half inch thick. Next, visit a local hobby store to buy about 10 to 12 short wheat stalks. These shouldn’t measure more than 10 inches long.
On the back of the wood piece, attach a wall hanger. Better yet, attach a thin rope for hanging. To complete this project, simply glue the wheat stalks to the back so that the full ends extend beyond the wood. When hung on the wall, it creates an earthy vibe. If wanted, you can color the piece of wood.

If you don’t have extra mason jars lying around, you’ll need to buy four or five. In this case, you want to paint either the interior or exterior of the jars, depending on the look you prefer. Not only is this a great DIY project, but it’s also something you can involve your kids with. You’ll need several bags of dry lentil beans or peas in fall colors. From there, the goal is to create charming houses similar to gingerbread houses. After putting the miniature houses together, display them on a table or mantle surrounded by candles.
Painted Pumpkins
In addition to carving pumpkins, you can make your home cozy by painting them. Just as with the beans, choose fall colors. To prevent the pumpkins from prematurely rotting, make an opening in the back so that you can remove everything from the inside.
